Robots in disguise!  5

I’m off to the cinema tonight to see Transformers and I can’t wait! I was never a fan of the original cartoon series (or “weekly toy advert”) or the toys themselves but the thought of two hours worth of enormous robots bashing the hell out of each other, the US army and the city around them appeals to the child in me. What can I say? I’m easily pleased.

I went to see Die Hard 4.0 a couple of weeks ago and, while I’ve also never really been a fan although I do concede that the original is a superb film, I enjoyed it. I never have too many expectations for films and so with my brain securely turned off it was quite a fun film to watch.

Another fun film I saw last week was Shrek 3. Again, not expecting too much I was pleased that it made me laugh more than a few times although, as anyone who knows me will tell you, I laugh at most things.

I wanted and was supposed to go and see Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix but due to several complications, mainly the weather, I missed the exodus I was tagging along with. I’m not too annoyed as I know I’ll definitely be buying it on DVD but it would’ve been the first of the series I’d seen on the big screen. Speaking of Mr. Potter …

I ordered Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows from Amazon and it arrived on Saturday morning, the day of release. I was under a self-imposed internet and news feed embargo as I didn’t want some malicious headline to spoil the ending. I really enjoyed the book as a whole and was happy to read one of the revelations in particular — no spoilers yet as I’m sure that someone somewhere still doesn’t know the ending or the main details. Fortunately I finished the final chapter on Monday evening so I could catch up with the online world after only a three day hiatus and was mildly pleased to see that my avoidance was unnecessary as no-one had spilled the beans — the world is full of decent people after all!

And finally for your amusement: me with hair that should’ve been cut three weeks ago.

Well, I thought everybody was being very restrained, then the BBC went and said… but I won’t say! I’ve still got to catch up on the last THREE HP books, not just the most recent one. Hope you enjoy the Transformers - I saw a clip of it on TV and it looks fun. - Diddums

Well, it was a fun and loud film although I don’t think I’ll be watching it again anytime soon - my ears are still ringing! - Timmargh

Come on Tim, let’s have an update. - Darren

Oops. I’ve gotten muddled upgrading to Movable Type 4 so the update will be a while longer. - Timmargh
