“You might feel a bit of a prick … “  6

No change there then!

Seriously, though, I had my first flu jab yesterday - I’ve never bothered before because my immune system is fairly robust and I usually manage to avoid catching colds when they’re doing the rounds in the family, but with all the drugs I’m taking at the moment I thought it was better to be safe than sorry. I did catch flu good and proper about 12 years ago and it laid me out flat in bed for two weeks along with very weird and vivd dreams of flying about on a huge bronze dragon dragon named Mnementh - fans of Anne McCaffrey may recognise that name.

On a different note, I spent most of yesterday trying to get my D-Link DSL-300T ADSL modem and my AirPort Express to play nice together so I could stick them both over in the far corner of my room to free up some desk space. I eventually got them to work after trawling several forums and reading other people’s descriptions of how they did it. All’s hunkydory now and I’m surfing wire-free.

I’m wire free, and I found some character in my street was also riding free on my account.. wirelessly using my internet. I wouldn’t mind but I just changed to a capped account so I can’t afford to have some scooby using up my precious gigabytes. - Anonymous

I doubt that’ll be a problem for me: I live in a warden controlled area and I’m the youngest resident by about 40 years! Still, I’ve protected my network with a 13 character password - apparently that allows non-Apple computers to share the network (I have several family members who often bring their wireless-capable PC laptops over for help). - Timmargh

I shan’t have a flu jab this year - they just guess which flu virus will be the one, and prescribe the appropriate vaiety of vaccine - last year they guessed wrong and it offered no protection to the variety of flu which actually appeared. So the side effects of the jab were all for nothing. - charlesdawson

Exactly! They have to order those flu shots at least a year in advance, you know. The only time I had a flu shot, I felt worse than when I did have the flu so bugger that! That was the one and only time I went through that kind of needle torture. Now what I do is when the months where flu is most susceptible to pounce on me (mainly like now till April for The Great White North) I take two echinacea capsules daily for half the month then go half the month without. Then the next month I start over. It has kept me free of the fly to 95%! So I highly recommend it! :^D - MHC

I’ve never had experience of the flu jab. It’s never been needed for me. I think the only person in my family that is advised to have it is dad. this is due to having several heart attacks five years ago. I don’t think my grandad bothers and, I think all elderly are supposed to take flu jabs. What do I know. However, as for wireless internet. Mum’s been trying to change her router to a wireless one. She’s had no success getting her connection up. My friend couldn’t help her it turned out. Mum had to unistall her current modem to get the wireless one going. Trouble is, she must’ve deleted her internet account off her laptop at the same time. She soon got her connectoin back once she’d given up and reistalled the old modem with all its bundle software. It’s a pity no one in the family are good at this sort of stuff really. I’m sure there’s someting she’s overlooked that, my friend didn’t think of at the time. - Justin R
