I’d never really considered what browsers people were using to view this site. I do try and check how it looks in various browsers when I make any layout changes, but I’d never thought about percentages. After reading Interesting Stats on CreativeBits I thought I share my own browser statistics:

So, there you go: IE seems to have nowhere near as much presence as it used to and it’s nice to see Firefox and Safari putting in a good show. I’ll do an update in a couple of months.
The actual percentages for each browser go like this:
| Browser | Percentage |
|---|---|
| Internet Explorer | 36% |
| Firefox | 24% |
| Safari | 21% |
| Google bot | 9% |
| Netscape compatible | 5% |
| Other | 5% |
Interesting statistics, and reflective of the audience you’re no doubt pitching to?
If you were to look at the statistics for the likes of an on-line newspaper, you’re likely to see a bunch of figures that better reflect the browser numbers, which would show Safari in a more realistically low percentile… - Wayne Smallman
Good point. To be honest I hadn’t thought about it much, I just did the chart quickly so I could get to bed before I dozed off in my chair. - Timmargh
